On the way there I saw this sign that took a beating from the nationalists. Their aim on Corte was good but they missed the spot on Ajaccio!

On Saturday (19th) we decided to dress in colours and say goodbye to the sea (au revoir mare). We happened to find a very elegant umbrella outside Jessie’s apartment.
And so our mare adventure began at an ornate door with Tory, a tulip and the elegant umbrella.

We continued and found an old building where we sat for awhile
Jessie and Anna

And then the tulips and Tiler entered the picture

Then we made it to the sea.

These two guys just couldn’t figure out what we were up to

Maeve, Tory and Jessie at the sea

Then we found the train tracks. (the train tracks that lead nowhere and are never used as the train in Corsica is totally useless!) Or at this point we haven’t found the train tracks yet we are making our way to the train tracks
Ergo this is the pilgrimage to the train tracks

Notice the umbrella is now upside down and has the tulips in it!
Train tracks discovered

Kalina (Bulgarian/Texan exchange student going to the Lycée in Ile Rousse), Maeve, Anna, Tiler and Tory.

Then we walked the line

Change in course

Jessie decided to take a nap on the tracks but looks uncannily like a corpse!

Tiler found a jack-in-the-pulpit and I freaked out cause I thought mom would love it and so Jessie took a photo of me with it!

Then Kalina asked if Jessie would pretend to tie her to the tracks. And thus began the saga of Kalina tied to the tracks – murder mystery in the making

Oh no!!

But Jessie is too sweet to go through with such a feat! Don’t worry Kalina survived and no trains came along

Jessie gave the umbrella a moment to shine

And then we headed home, letting the tracks lead our way

The tracks became quite overgrown with foliage

Here we are almost home

At home anna made this … architectural experiment with the moor head u borgu on it

The next day we went hiking in the mountains and through several little villages around Ile Rousse the names of which I can’t remember but one of them was noted as one of the most beautiful villages in France! That was au revoir monti part but we had some camera issues so I don’t have the photos :(
We idled with cows scared them made them moo and run and poop and also had an incident with a farmers dog! We also saw the cap corse while hiking! It was a nice day.
Last photo I took was of this lonely man at the Ponte Leccia train station after Tory and Tiler got on the train going to Bastia and I got on the one going towards Ajaccio.

Au revoir mare è monti
